galaxysiiisprintSamsung recently released quarter one financial estimates, as large-scale companies do to give industry analysts guidance in their upcoming numbers. While the numbers are certainly not official, it appears that the Galaxy S III 4G Android smartphone has once again helped Samsung to another record quarter, year over year. If the numbers hold true, this will be the fifth financial quarter that the company posted improved total sales and profits over the same period one year ago.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $9.99.

The quarter one financial guidance which Samsung released comes ahead of the much-anticipated Galaxy S4 retail launch, and things are looking rather rosy for the company, which is valued at $220 billion. Samsung’s number crunchers estimate that the total sales for the first quarter of this year will fall somewhere in the range of 51 and 53 trillion won ($45.39 – $47.17 billion US). They went on to say that profits are projected for 8.7 trillion won ($7.7 billion), and both of those sets of numbers would be a substantial increase over the same quarter in 2012.

The Samsung Galaxy S III continues to be a best-selling smartphone, and multiple wireless carriers in the United States have dropped its retail price in advance of the upcoming Galaxy S4 launch. With more than 50 million units sold globally, the handset actually outsold an Apple iPhone for the first time ever. Both the Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 were available from the same carriers late last year when the “never before” feat was accomplished, and Samsung executives obviously hope the upcoming Galaxy S4 continues in the same successful footsteps as the entire Galaxy S line so far.

The 16 GB AT&T and Sprint Galaxy S III variants were recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store online with a substantially lower retail price tag. Those handsets are currently available beginning at $9.99 on contract at the online retailer, and they deliver the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system out-of-the-box. The Samsung Galaxy S III has been a popular handset due to the presence of one of the largest and highest resolution displays found on any 4G smartphone.

Even though the hardware package is substantial, and the display size runs 4.80 inches, the Galaxy S III is slim at 0.34 inches (8.6 mm). The handset is also light when compared to similar phones with the same size display, and weighs in at only 4.70 ounces (133 g). The display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and delivers a 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution, offering more than 16 million different colors at a rate of 306 pixels per inch.

You can purchase the Galaxy S III at a discounted price tag now starting at $9.99.
