galaxynote2mayThe Galaxy Note II is known for having a long life battery which offers up to 15 hours of talk time from a single charge. The phone also offers 16 GB of onboard storage space and a microSD slot to allow for storage expansion. These are out-of-the-box specifications, which exist upon the Galaxy Note II Sprint is currently selling for just under $50 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store online. But recently an enterprising Galaxy Note II owner customized his own handset with some amazing hardware additions.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at .

The handset cost significantly more than the stock version after adding all the after-market parts, and the custom-made Galaxy Note II delivers an incredible 288 GB of storage, three times the already generous battery capacity, and dual Sim support. Physically the phone looks like a bloated or “ready to explode” stock Galaxy Note II smartphone, and all the extras were added to a 32 GB Galaxy Note II (model number N7102) purchased in China. The XDA-Developers member included a microSD to SD card adapter, as well as a $999.99 256GB Lexar Professional 600x SDXC UHS-I Card.

That was topped off with a 9,300 mAh ZeroLemon battery case for a potential 45 hours of talk time from a single charge. The phone is anything but attractive when viewed from the side or back, but definitely extends the definition of portable. The stock Samsung Galaxy Note II found on the Sprint 4G LTE system in the United States already delivers nearly double the amount of talk time from a full battery charge as the typical smartphone, a True HD touchscreen display, and the popular smart stylus S Pen.

Sprint adds support for their specialty services like Sprint ID, TV, Radio, MusicPlus and more, and the phone also offers access to hundreds of thousands of applications on Google Play. Launching last October in the United States, the Galaxy Note II for Sprint has been a flagship handset for that wireless provider. Slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), the Galaxy Note II boasts a huge 5.55 inch display with a unique split screen capability. Resolution runs 720 by 1,280 pixels, and the screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

The phone draws its multitasking power from a quad core Exynos central processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, and a quad core graphics processor is also present. A full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board. A rear facing 8.0 megapixel joins a front facing chat cam in the handset’s camera combo, delivering 1,080P HD resolution video recording. The Galaxy Note II also delivers a Stereo FM radio with RDS display, and support for popular social networking applications Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter out-of-the-box.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at .
