BlackBerry has long been a beleaguered manufacturer whose spot in the smartphone market has little by little slipped down through the passage of time. Not even the release of its last batch of smartphones with souped-up internals has saved the company.Bbut now, BlackBerry is at it again in trying to reclaim its lost glory in the smartphone competition. After all, there was a time when BlackBerry devices were one of the more popular handsets in the market but that was from a couple of years back. Now, the company has been reduced to a minor player in the smartphone competition and hopes to make a big comeback.

Its comeback is hinged at the BlackBerry Z10, the company’s latest flagship device. The BlackBerry Z10 is now available in 21 countries but there is no news yet as to when it will make its debut in shelves in our side of the world where 20% of its sales come from. There are recent rumors however that AT&T has already confirmed that it will have the BlackBerry flagship added to its smartphone lineup but there has been no mention until now of when the handset will finally make it to the shelves of the carrier.

Initial rumors intimated that the BlackBerry Z10 will be launched by AT&T in US shores on March 15 but according to our sources who are both close to the BlackBerry action, the wireless provider will launch the handset on March 22, exactly a week after the initially rumored March 15 release date. With this new date, the title of debuting the BlackBerry Z10 in US shores is now up for grabs with both AT&T and T-Mobile (who also has plans of releasing its BlackBerry Z10 variant) in a race on who gets to release the handset first.

As for the BlackBerry Z10, this is currently the flagship device of the Canadian manufacturer and was announced back in January of this year. The handset is as sexy as it can get with its dimensions of 130 x 65 x 9 mm and it tips the scales at 137.5 grams. Of course, being the flagship device that it is, it is only expected that the BlackBerry Z10 will also come with an impressive resume made up of fire-breathing components under the handset’s hood.

The BlackBerry Z10 runs BlackBerry 10 OS for its operating system and this is powered by the handset’s QualComm MMS8960 SnapDragon chipset. This SOC brings into play a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and this processor works with a staggering 2GB of RAM in generating the computing power needed by the handset. The storage space on board the handset comes up to only 16GB of internal memory and if this is not enough for your needs, you can easily make use of the handset’s microSd card slot for memory expansion purposes. As for its display, the BlackBerry Z10 sports a 4.2-inch capacitive touchscreen panel with a 1280 x 768 resolution while its dual-shooter configuration includes an 8MP shooter at its back panel and a front 2MP snapper for video callas and self-portrait snapper.
