The Motorola Atrix HD looks similar to the Droid Razr and Droid Razr MAXX 4G smartphones, but has its own unique appearance as well. Launching on June 15, the Razr reminiscent handset has the familiar crosshatch Kevlar back. Delivering a large high-resolution screen, powerful and speedy dual core processor, high-resolution video capture and Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 out-of-the-box, the Atriz HD is exclusive to the AT&T 4G LTE network. AT&T recently lowered the retail price of the Atrix HD 4G Android smartphone with a standard new two-year activation and data agreement at select retailers.

The tough Kevlar backing teams up with a front display coating of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass to deliver a rugged handset, and the interior parts are nanocoated to offer splash-proof protection. The Atrix HD handset is ultra-thin at only 0.33 inches (8.4 mm), and measures 5.26 x 2.75 x 0.33 inches (133.5 x 69.9 x 8.4 mm) overall. Weighing 4.94 ounces (140 g), the Atrix HD 4G smartphone delivers a 4.50 touch screen with 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution. Delivered at 326 pixels per inch, that is one of the highest resolution displays found on any smartphone.

That TFT screen comes with light and proximity sensors integrated, which provide for auto brightness adjustment and battery conservation. Motorola’s ColorBoost technology uses more than 16 million colors to render visuals, and the MotoBlur UI Android overlay works with ICS 4.0, accepting multitouch, capacitive gestures to navigate the handset. Those battery saving efforts leads to 9.00 hours of talk time from a single charge of the 1,780 mA battery on board, approximately 12% better than the performance offered by a standard 4G smartphone.

Standby time on the Motorola Atrix HD sits at 8.5 days, and continuing in the hardware package we find a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chip set that revolves around a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. A separate Adreno 225 chip handles all graphics processing, 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is built in, and 8.0 GB of data storage comes with the handset. A microSD slot is built in for storage expansion opportunity.

On the back of the handset is an 8.0 megapixel camera which offers autofocus, digital zoom and geo tagging features, and provides video capture at 1081 P HD resolution. That camera is joined by a front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam which offers video call support and portrait snapshot functionality. The built-in music player filters by album, artist and play list, and joins a YouTube video player in the multimedia package on board the Atrix HD 4G smartphone.  While we are not allowed to advertise the reduced price tag for the Atrix HD, we can tell you its worth checking out!  View the Motorola Atrix HD reduced price here!
