The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II is that US Galaxy S II version most similar to the handset which was released first in Asia and Europe that immediately sold 10 million units in its first five months of availability. That 4G smartphone was launched on October 2 with Android’s 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, and although the handset is barely 2 months old, it just benefited from a retail price drop to $99 with a new two-year activation. Designed in the same black, flat, rectangular style of most 4G smartphones today, the AT&T Galaxy S II measures 4.96 x 2.60 x 0.35 inches (126 x 66 x 9 mm), and weighs 4.30 ounces (122 g), making it average in size and weight compared to all 4G smartphones

The display on board the Galaxy S II runs 4.30 inches in size, and employs Samsung’s own Super AMOLED plus display technology to deliver visual images and video in 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixel resolution. That capacitive multitouch screen is protected by an outer layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, and has standard light and proximity sensors built in. The battery on board is a 1650 mAh model, and provides 8.0 hours of talk time and 16 days standby from a single charge, both average 4G performances.
