lggflexA couple of weeks ago the brand new LG G Flex was rumored to be coming to the AT&T network sometime in January.  The pre-orders were confirmed for the 24th of January and now confirmation of the shipping date has been reported as the 4th of February.  Starting on that day, the LG G Flex will be available for purchase online and directly from your local AT&T retail store.  Since the LG G Flex first launched in Korea, it has slowly been visiting other regions of the world before finally making its way to the United States.

The LG G2 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01 – $699.99.

AT&T and Sprint will be the first two companies to offer the smartphone with T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless coming by the end of March.  The LG G Flex comes with a huge, 6-inch flexible display that is protected by plastic, rather than glass, so it will allow for more bending than any smartphone available today.  The back side of the device comes with a self-repairing coat over the plastic design and the phone will be powered by one of the fastest quad-core processors on the market today.  The featured specs are rounded out with 2GB of RAM and a 13MP camera on the back side.

The phone is reportedly going to be coming with a price tag that reads $299 and that is with a new two-year contract with AT&T.  Sprint is going to have the smartphone ready to ship on the 1st of February, so it will be ready just a few days before AT&T according to recent reports.  If you are still confused as to how the LG G Flex works and is more durable, there are plenty of videos posted online about the phone flexing smartphone that you can check out for more information.

One video from an online source that attended the Consumer Electronics Show this year shows the LG G Flex and how much the curved display actually bends and does offer more durability.  With the curved displays becoming more popular, other companies have taken to developing their own designs and throughout this year we should see more curved displays on high end smartphones.  Because the display is protected by plastic rather than glass, it might be a little downgrade, but the durability of the phone and back side cover might make up for that.
