iphonerumorsThere have been several rumors regarding when Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone. Many analysts have speculated that the next launch from Apple will come around August or September this year. Some have even suggested that Apple might stray from their one phone a year tradition and launch two iPhones, with one being a cheaper variant aimed at price sensitive markets. Though the cheaper variant of the iPhone has been speculated for years, it hasn’t arrived yet. But many analysts feel that this is the year when it finally will happen while some suggest that it might be pushed to 2014.

Rumors have suggested that the cheaper iPhone ‘Mini’ will feature a polycarbonate plastic body. However, a Japanese blog is now suggesting that the iPhone ‘Mini’ will actually have a larger screen than its predecessor. The iPhone Mini may feature a 4.5 inch display compared to the 4-inch one on the iPhone 5. Yet another strong rumor is that the new iPhone will be seen in multiple colors as is the trend with many other smartphone manufacturers such as HTC and Nokia. This rumor is based on the fact that Apple has offered a job for an anodizing engineer – one who is capable of adding colors to aluminum – even though there are no references to the iPhone in the job information.

One of the major sources of rumor is the cases for various products that pop up in China. Many factories that work on the actual device are known to leak specifications to case manufacturers. Last week a supposed case for a new iPad was seen on AliBaba, an international online marketplace. Though it doesn’t reveal much, it suggests that the new device will be roughly the same size as the current one, and that a Lightning connect slot is present, though one important feature seen is a thinner bezel size. However, the mere presence of the case in the international market does not reveal any information about a probable release date of the actual product.

The iPhone sales report of the last quarter was subpar, and the stock price of Apple has been steadily declining ever since. Speculations and rumors aside, it is quite true that Apple does need a major come back with this year’s product line.
