Sprint was the second carrier to come on board with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus ICS smartphone, and based on reviews and sales, Sprint customers are enjoying the latest Nexus release. The Verizon version of the device enjoyed an incredibly successful launch, and remains as one of the top smartphones offered by Verizon. The Galaxy Nexus release at Sprint was exciting, though the phone has not made it to the best sellers list on Amazon yet, where the Verizon version holds the number four spot.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus at Sprint has recently dropped in price starting at $99 at select Sprint authorized retailers with a new 2 year contract, this is $100 less than Sprint’s asking price. To sweeten the pot, you can also get a free $50 credit to your Google prepaid card upon successfully activating your Google Wallet on your new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. A $100 discount plus $50 free makes for a pretty nice incentive for Sprint customers.

One reason that there may not be quite the frenzy to scoop up Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus in comparison to Verizon’s experience may be because the Nexus no longer stands alone as the sole ICS smartphone. Being the first made it a hot commodity; however there are multiple devices out there now with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS on board, either out of the box or via updates, and that has caused the Galaxy Nexus to loose some of its sparkle. While the phone is 4G LTE enabled, Sprint has not yet launched their LTE service, which is expected to occur midyear. This also may play a role in customer enthusiasm.

The feature set on the Galaxy Nexus is indeed notable, with the new and improved Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich), NFC capabilities, powerful 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a nice 32 GB of memory, and a stunning 4.65” HD Super AMOLED multi-touchscreen for an exceptional multimedia and web browsing experience.

The camera on board is slightly below best in class at 5 MP, and includes full HD 1080 video capture. Advanced photography features include impressive low-light performance, zero shutter lag, and nice photo editing capabilities. There is also a 1.3 MP front facing camera for video chats and self-portraits. You also get the usuals, such as on board GPS, next gen Bluetooth, high quality media player, MicroUSB Port, and once available, super fast 4G LTE service. It’s a specs sheet that rivals the competition, and her performance thus far has earned the Galaxy Nexus a spot among the stars. Buy the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus starting at $99, and get a free $50 credit when you activate your Google Wallet.
