The Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone has been “coming” for some time now and Android fans are waiting for the next generation of the operating system to arrive.  Today, some coupons that were obtained by DroidDog.com show that we might actually get to see the new Galaxy Nexus on store shelves sooner than later.  The images from the website show what appears to be a coupon for Costco and shows the new smartphone available for $289.99.  That price is what is listed on the coupon and appears to go along with a new two-year contract.

Looking for a better price on this new 4G device? If your a new customer for Verizon, Buy the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for only $149 and as little as $199 for existing customer upgrades with new two year contract.

The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be powered by the “Ice Cream Sandwich” version of Android and the deal at Costco will come with a leather pouch, car charger and screen protector.  The two-year contract with be with Verizon Wireless and according to the coupon the deal starts December 15th.  According to other sources the wholesale chain should have already had the new Nexus on the 9th of December.  Since the phone has been delayed so many times in recent weeks, consumers might wait a little before getting too excited.  The December 15th date does not mean that the phone is “officially launched”, but it might mean that Costco customers will be the first to purchase the phone.

Even though the dates on the coupons, arriving this week sometime, show the December 15th, consumers should not be surprised if they pile into Costco on Thursday of this week and still do not see the new phone.  The new Nexus comes with 4G LTE support, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels and might have been delayed because the two companies have been trying to figure out what to do about the Google Wallet feature.  Recently, Verizon had made it clear they do not want the feature on the phone, because they might have their own version of virtual payment options, but none of this has been confirmed.

Surprisingly, some Android fans were able to purchase the new smartphone recently.  Mistakes led to two known purchases, one at a Best Buy the other at a Verizon store.  In both cases, the phones were sent to the retailers for the December 9th launch date and were sold to customers by mistake.  The new phone is top of the line and has cutting edge design.
