The Nokia Lumia 900 is perhaps the most successful handset of Nokia by far. The smartphone is the product of the Finnish manufacturer’s strategic alliance with software giant Microsoft and together with the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800, the Nokia Lumia 900 is giving the competition in the Windows Phone ecosystem a serious run for their money.
This was in a way expected because Nokia put in a lot of effort in the manufacture of the Nokia Lumia 900. As such, the handset is the current flagship device of the company so we can only imagine all the effort that was put into the development of this handset. And now, the manufacturer is reaping all the benefits of its hard work with the Nokia Lumia 900 getting positive reviews and more importantly, a warm reception from the smartphone-buying public.
In fact, saying that the reception for the Nokia Lumia 900 was warm is an understatement. When you come to think of it, the handset was released in US shores on a national holiday which also happened to fall on a Sunday. Releasing a handset on a Sunday is frowned upon in the smartphone competition but Nokia still went ahead and did it. Lo and behold, the Nokia Lumia 900 immediately shot up to the top of the smartphone leaderboards and snagged the top and third spots in the bestsellers list of an AT&T-authorized reseller.
Not only that, it was also reported in the past that the demand of the Nokia Lumia 900 has already outpaced the supply of the handset and this is not just a matter of not stocking enough handsets in the inventory. The demand for the handset is very real according to analysts and one of the reasons cited for the popularity of the handset are its available colorways.
And now, Nokia has given you yet another reason to want the Nokia Lumia 900 for your next mobile weapon of choice. As such, the Finnish manufacturer has released a limited edition Batman-themed Lumia 900 called the “Nokia Lumia 900 The Dark Knight Rises Edition”. Obviously, this handset is a sort-of tie-in with the film The Dark Knight Rises which will debut on July 20. As for the handset, it will be made available in a matte black colorway (Were you expecting something else?) and will have a laser-etched Batman logo at the back panel of the Nokia Lumia 900.
The internals of the handset is similar to the original version of the Nokia Lumia 900. It will also pack a QualComm APQ8055 SnapDragon chipset under the hood while a 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor will work together with 512MB of RAM in delivering the computing muscle needed by the handset. The storage space of the Nokia Lumia 900 comes up to 16GB while its display is of the AMOLED variety and measures 4.3 inches and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The handset also comes with a dual-shooter configuration with a rear-facing 8MP shooter capable of 720p video capture while its front-facer has a sensor resolution of 1.3MP and is able to record VGA clips at 30 frames per second. Select online retailers are offering the Nokia Lumia 900 starting at $19.
