Verizon Galaxy S III Getting Jelly Bean 4.1

The Samsung Galaxy  S III 4G Android smartphone launched on July 12 of this year on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States. The handset delivers Samsung’s Color App which enables GS III owners to broadcast live video accompanied with audio for up to 60 seconds, as well as snapshots and photos, instantly to their friends on Facebook. The handset is currently offered in Marble White or Pebble Blue and delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box, allowing one touch wireless data share through the S Beam application with other Galaxy  S III devices.

The handset also delivers a new Share Shot mode which uses NFC wireless capabilities to let you to build a temporary photo sharing network with other Galaxy S III users who are nearby. As soon as a Wi-Fi connection is completed, any photos you list to the Share Shot application are instantly shared with other members in your network. The Galaxy S III 4G Android smartphone delivers the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box with the Samsung TouchWiz UX UI interface. The handset measures 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.34 inches (137 x 71 x 8.6 mm) and weighs 4.70 ounces (133 g).

Google recently announced that the new Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system would be delivered to all Samsung Galaxy S III devices by the end of the third quarter in the United States, September 30. No official launch date or rollout schedule accompanied that announcement. Even though the handset is skinny and light, it delivers a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display that is one of the largest found on any smartphone. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 offers scratch resistance and glare reduction, and the pixel density of 316 pixels per inch is one of the highest found on any handset. Overall screen resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures navigate the handset. The 2,100 mA battery on board offers almost twice the typical 4G talk time, at 15.00 hours delivered from a single charge.

A speedy 1.5 GHz dual core central processor joins a separate Adreno 225 GPU that handles all graphics processing in the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip package on board the Verizon GS III. The handset delivers a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage, both of those designations ranking as highest in the 4G smartphone marketplace. Video capture runs 1,080P HD with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and the front facing chat cam provides video call support.  The GSII has recently undergone a price reduction.  View the recently reduced Galaxy S III price tag,
