droiddnaVerizon Wireless is not exactly the fastest mobile carrier to offer updates to handsets that it sells, especially ones that are older or replaced by newer models already, but that does not seem to be the case for those that own the Droid DNA.  According to reports from this week, the Droid DNA is going to be updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software, along with the latest Sense 5 user interface from HTC.  The President of HTC has been trying to get consumers back on track since a few updates missed the end of September deadline.

Jason Mackenzie said that the Droid DNA would be getting the software updates “later this year”, but now has said that it will happen within the month of December.  Some might have an issue with the statement after waiting so long for the HTC One update that was finally released this month, after being promised to users by the end of September.  Back in September, users were expecting to see the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software, but the company quickly changed that to the Android 4.2.2 update and left the Sense 5 update out of the mix altogether.

The device was going to be updated to Android 4.2.2, with the Android 4.3 and Sense 5 or 5.5 coming before the end of the year.  HTC was questioned last month about the update, but the company did not go into any detail regarding the Droid DNA update information at the time.  According to one tweet answering at least one customer online, the HTC President said that the update would be “closer to the end of this year (December)”.  Many other smartphones from HTC has been updated to either the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software, or the Sense 5 user interface, so users are anxious to get the update for the Droid DNA.

The update is going to bring plenty of enhancements to the Droid DNA and that includes the user interface since the Sense 5 software is considered an upgrade over the 4th version.  The new software is going to bring the latest from Android 4.3, as well as the enhancements that are packed into the user interface.  One of the newest smartphones from HTC is reportedly coming with the Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 5.5 pre-installed out of the box.
