nokialumia928verizonVerizon announced a couple of days ago that the Nokia Lumia 928 will indeed support the new AWS LTE spectrum. Big Red told LaptopMag that the AWS LTE spectrum is being picked up from several other companies, and that they are actively working on deploying the spectrum as a boost to its already speedy LTE network. In areas where AWS is utilized, it will boost the capacity of Verizon’s LTE network. Verizon already owns the largest LTE system in the United States by far, with more than 440 major markets.

The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.99.

The AWS LTE will boost will allow even more customers in the future to join the Verizon party without slowing it down, but only those handsets which support AWS airwaves will be “future proofed”, so to speak. This is just another feather in the Nokia Lumia 928 cap, and the phone already delivers what is probably the best smartphone camcorder of any mobile handset Verizon offers. Available since May 16, the Nokia Lumia 928 can be considered a beefed-up Lumia 920, and it runs the most recent Windows Phone 8 operating system.

The Nokia Lumia 928 runs on Verizon’s 4G LTE service, and delivers a large high-resolution screen, Carl Zeiss camera, NFC wireless support and a speedy processor. With PureView technology in a form factor that is smaller and lighter than the bulky Lumia 920, the handset also offers high performance mics that capture up to 140dB sound without distortion. The display mentioned above is 4.5 inches, and that AMOLED screen delivers a pixel density of 332 pixels per inch. Overall resolution is 768 by 1,280 pixels, while a scratch resistant layer of Gorilla Glass protects the screen.

Nearly double the industry average talk time is delivered from a single battery charge, at 16.2 hours, and an incredible 25.2 days of standby power is also available on the Lumia 928 handset. A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip is on board, centered around a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. 1.0 GB of RAM memory joins a generous 32 GB of built-in storage space. The 8.7 megapixel PureView camera on the back of the phone includes a wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and optical image stabilization, and a Smart Shoot feature that collects five snapshots at a time.

You can then choose your favorite picture, and the Cinemagraph feature adds movement to your still images. The camera also offers a floating lens, which effectively reduces movement in videos and photos. A powerful Xenon flash is on board, and video is recorded in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution). The phone also offers a front facing 1.2 megapixel chat cam, the Internet Explorer 10 mobile web browser, and Facebook and Twitter applications pre-installed.

The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.99.
