In the gadget world, the term jailbreak is very familiar. A concept introduced with the aim of exploiting the weakness of the iOS, professional developers belonging to the Chronic developers team have announced their latest update regarding the jailbreak concept for the iOS 5. Most of us know that the jailbreak concept allows access to apps that are generally banned on the iOS platform, mostly implemented by “playing with the code”. The announcement of this decision has been welcomed by iOS users around the world.

One of the experts in the Chronic Dev Team announced five exploits that were found on the beta version on the latest iOS. He also mentioned that these exploits are in the process of being fixed and this has slowed the team’s progress in developing a suitable release of the jailbreak. The developer quoted that the announcement was a little premature courtesy of Apple’s release of a critical patch which prevented them from using the exploits.

One of the five aforementioned issues is to prevent the crash report system from sending a response to Apple in case the device encounters a problem. There were two methods suggested for solving this problem. One alternative involves storing the crash report on the device itself which would prevent forwarding information to Apple. The team also adopted measures to prevent any transfer of information through the iTunes platform. The blog also said that the team is working on releasing the jailbreak version of the iOS 5 by completely fixing the exploits mentioned before.

Another alternative that has been suggested by the developer’s team is one where the generated crash report is sent to the Chronic Developers team’s servers rather than the Apple’s servers. This would ensure a certain feedback mechanism in place which, the developers’ team believe would help in promoting relations between the team and the users. This has left the team in a dilemma as to which alternative needs to be implemented on the jailbreak for the iOS 5.

Presently this feature is only available with Mac users. The team announced that a new variant of the same system will be available for the windows version also. The team invited all iOS users to install this special software which will in turn provide a means of helping the Chronic developers team in creating the much awaited untethered jailbreak concept for the iOS 5.
