ipad5There have been plenty of rumors indicating that Apple was going to take some design tips from the iPad Mini and now, a couple of images that were leaked online today could be confirming those rumors.  The images, which showed up this morning, show off the front panel for the newest iPad 5, which is set to arrive sometime in October of this year.  In the images you can clearly see smaller bezels which is confirmation of another rumor that was started shortly after the iPad 5 was first thought about.

If the new iPad 5 shows up with this new design, it would be the third time that Apple redesigned the 10-inch version of the tablet.  The new design is going to update the larger iPad 5 with hope that it will be able to compete with Android powered tablets and one of its own, the iPad Mini.  It was revealed this year that the iPad Mini was so popular that it actually stole some of the sales away from the larger iPad.  Most of the stolen sales would have to be blamed on the fact that the iPad Mini is thinner, smaller and lighter making the tablet more portable for everyone.

The iPad Mini was also cheaper and not all that much more than what most Android powered tablets were giving consumers something to think about when they were looking to buy one.  The source of the leaked images is a well known leaker of Apple information and recently shared images for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and more.  New screen technology is reportedly going to give the fifth generation iPad a 20 percent thinner body.  If just the screen technology can remove 20 percent of the weight, other improvements could take another 5 percent of the overall weight away making the newest addition to the iPad family about 25 percent lighter than any other iPad on the market.

In the photos you can also see the collection of connectors that is needed in order to attach the display to the rest of the device, plus one image that shows the cut out portion of the front panel that houses the home button.  The iPad 5 is expected to arrive with the same Retina display that came on the fourth edition and is also expected to be launching in the month of October.
