With a powerful quad core central processor, double the amount of RAM memory of the typical 4G smartphone, 4G LTE speeds and a true HD screen, the Optimus G from LG arrived on the Sprint 4G LTE network on November 11 in the US. The handset is sleek and black, setting itself apart from the typical Android smartphone, and is chock-full of Google goodies like the Chrome for Android web browser, Car Home, Gmail, Maps with Navigation, Search, Shopper, and YouTube.

The LG Optimus G is currently available at a special Black Friday reduced price tag now starting at $99.99.

The handset also delivers a Power Saver feature for battery conservation once your battery power falls below 30%. And also in the battery conservation profile, the LG Optimus G can operate in Standard Or Eco Mode. In Standard Mode the Krait central processor uses all four cores, and in Eco Mode the handset uses just two of the central processor cores to save battery power. The LG Optimus G also delivers a Video Wiz application which closet shutterbugs will enjoy, allowing you to string together multiple photos and also edit your favorite videos.

The handset serves up Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 out-of-the-box, which meshes with the LG Optimus UI v3.0 accepting standard multitouch, capacitive gestures. The handset weighs 5.11 ounces (145 g), and measures 5.19 x 2.71 x 0.33 inches (131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45 mm) in size. At 318 pixels per inch the LG Optimus G offers HD resolution, with an overall display resolution of 768 x 1,280 pixels. That 4.70 inch True HD IPS+ Touch Hybrid Display uses Zerogap Touch technology for the first time in an LG handset to provide truer colors, as well as better viewing in direct sunlight and at extreme angles.

More than 16 million colors are present in that display, which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The 2,100 mA battery on board delivers 13.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and the hardware package includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 chip set. 2.0 GB of RAM memory join 32 GB of built-in storage, an Adreno 320 GPU and a quad core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor in the hardware profile.

The LG Optimus G for Sprint delivers NFC (Near Field Communications) wireless support out-of-the-box, as well as a 13 megapixel camcorder, and select authorized online retailers are currently offering the handset at a sub $100 price tag. This reduced pricing is just in time for the Black Friday and holiday sales event. That rear facing camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution, and joins a front facing 1.3 chat cam in the camera combo.

You can purchase the LG Optimus G for a reduced price now starting at $99.99.
