gs4niceTech fans and technology crazed shoppers now have another reason to love the powerful and popular Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. The South Korean mobile handset and consumer-electronics manufacturer announced at IFA in Berlin a couple of months back that they would be releasing the Galaxy Gear smartwatch to complement their line of Galaxy smartphones. A digital timepiece with decent technical specs and hardware package that actually syncs with your smartphone? That is exactly what the Galaxy Gear smartwatch was made to do, and that support for the Galaxy S4 arrives in October.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Black Mist is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $119$49.99 – $639.99.

The smartwatch is rumored to be available in 6 GB and 8 GB versions eventually, and just this past week Samsung announced support for the Galaxy S4 will be arriving in early to mid October. The technologically advanced wristwatch was originally slated to only work with the Galaxy Note 3 tablet. This is a wise move by Samsung, since the Galaxy S4 smartphone has been one of the bestsellers in the entire mobile marketplace this year, and helped launch that company past Apple as the worldwide leader in smartphone shipments. Samsung vice president Lee Young-hee was quoted in the Korea Times as confirming an update for the Galaxy S4 in October that would allow it to act as a companion piece to the Galaxy Gear watch.

He stated that all functions “of the Gear will be connected to the Galaxy S4 smartphone by next month” and will then be expanded to the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note II devices by the end of December. The smartwatch will deliver a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. 512 MB of RAM memory is on board, the initial unit will deliver 4 GB of internal storage, and the handset also offers a 1.9 megapixel camera with autofocus. Bluetooth 4.0 is supported by the watch, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors are on board, and an initial sale price has not been confirmed.

The Galaxy S4 smartphone is known for understanding and performing an extensive set of voice commands, and many of these will also be available on the Galaxy Gear watch. This comes right after Samsung announced recently that their bestselling Galaxy S4 flagship would be receiving an update to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system in October of this year. The handset’s huge and high resolution display delivers one of the highest pixel densities ever found on a smartphone, but the phone is still slim and light compared to other five inchers.

Measuring a slim 0.31 inches (7.9 mm) in thickness, the powerful Galaxy S4 is also light in weight, tilting the scales at just 4.59 ounces (130 g). The large 5.0 inch Full HD screen delivers a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, and over 16 million separate colors are spread across that display at the rate of 441 pixels per inch. A 1.6 GHz quad core CPU powers the phone, and joins 2.0 GB of RAM system memory and 16 GB of built-in data storage in the handset’s hardware package. A microSD slot allows for storage improvement, and a 13.0 megapixel camcorder is built into the back of the handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Black Mist can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $119$49.99 – $639.99.
