galaxysiiiallThe Samsung Galaxy S III is one of the best-selling smartphones of all time. Recently passing the 60 million global units sold mark, the handset continues to be a popular choice for smartphone shoppers, despite the fact that it is coming up on its 16 month anniversary. Many phones are not viable choices after they have been around more than a year, but that is not the case with the Galaxy S III smartphone. That handset recently received some more news which is certain to see its popularity and sales support continue for some time.

The Samsung Galaxy S III can be purchased starting at just one penny.

Earlier this year consumer electronics manufacturer Samsung announced they would be releasing a Galaxy Gear smartwatch, also giving select phones in their smartphone lineup the ability to support the digital, computer powered timepiece. Recently Samsung vice president Lee Young-hee made an announcement when he was interviewed by the Korea Times discussing exactly which smartphones would receive Galaxy Gear support. The Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone will support the Galaxy Gear watch next month, with the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II devices supporting the watch by the end of this year.

That is good news for Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone shoppers who also want the latest in tech gear, as well as smartphone shoppers looking for a bargain basement priced handset with attractive feature package. The Samsung Galaxy S III running on the AT&T network, for example, was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store online in the 16 GB version boasting a one penny on contract price tag. The Galaxy S III delivers a large 4.80 inch True HD display in a slim and light form factor, measuring just 0.34 inches (8.6 mm) in thickness, and weighing just 4.70 ounces (133 g).

The Galaxy Gear smartwatch will have a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED face, and a screen resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. The intelligent watch will also come equipped with a full 512 MB of RAM system memory, 4 GB of internal storage, and a 1.9 megapixel camera. A price tag has not been confirmed as of this date, nor has an official delivery date of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch itself. The Galaxy S III is available in blue, white, black or brown in the 16 GB model, and a 32 GB version is also available.

The display on the Galaxy S III is protected by a second generation layer of Corning Gorilla Glass, and offers up to 15.0 hours of talk time after a full battery charge. The Galaxy S III was one of the first smartphones to deliver the ability to simultaneously record high definition images and video, and does so with its rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. That rear snapper records in 1,080P HD resolution, and the phone is powered by a Snapdragon S4 plus dual core CPU. A full 2.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is a storage expanding microSD slot, a front facing chat cam and NFC support. You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy S III with just the change in your pocket.
