In the scheme of things in the Android ecosystem, Google Developer Devices such as the LG Nexus 4, the current Google flagship device, are vaunted because they are always first in line whenever Google releases updates or platform changes. This because these devices run a pure Vanilla, fully-stock version of the Android operating system and there are no custom user interface overlaid atop the Android OS itself to further complicate things and unnecessary delay the whole process. In addition to that, Google developer devices are also the epitome of customization and personalization in the Android platform so they are relatively easy to crack open in terms of getting root access and other power user stuff like that.

As for the LG Nexus 4, those who already got their hands on the smartphone who are waiting to get root access on the device will definitely get interested in the next piece of news we bring. As it stands, the LG Nexus 4 has already been cracked open and root access to the device is now available and we have HQRaja of AddictiveTips by way of XDA Developers to thank. Not only is root access available on the LG Nexus 4, power users and regular Joes alike can now install ClockWorkMod Recovery on the handset which basically expands upon stock recovery and comes with a couple of new features that advanced users will definitely drool over.

Also, those interested in rooting the LG Nexus 4 can now have the all-in-one Nexus 4 toolkit which basically allows one-click root, bootloader unlock, easy installation of ADB/fastboot drivers and so much more. With this in play, anybody with a LG Nexus 4 with enough technical know-how and a lot of guts can now take advantage of this and be on their way to tons of personalization and customization options on their LG Nexus 4 handsets.

In other news, the official build of ClockWorkMod Recovery is now available for the LG Nexus 4 which will enable a user of the handset to back up everything on the device and take bleeding-edge stuff and have them flashed onto the handset. However, Koush, the developer responsible for LG Nexus 4 ClockWorkMod Recovery, suggests that those interested in doing so should manually flash the bits and pieces of ClockWorkMod recovery onto the LG Nexus 4 and skip the ROM Manager route altogether.

As for the LG Nexus 4, the handset already runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for its operating system as mentioned earlier and this is powered by the handset’s QualComm APQ8064 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC brings into play a quad-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and a staggering 2GB of RAM. The handset was released in an 8GB and 16GB variant in terms of storage capacity while its display is a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive multitouch panel with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. The camera department of the handset on the other hand boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a 1.3MP snapper.
