The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is the second in the Incredible lineup offered by HTC, and enjoys a one penny retail price at select Verizon authorized retailers with standard two-year activation exclusive to the Verizon Wireless broadband network. The handset was released on April 28 of 2011, and is one of the first Android smartphones to qualify for Superphone status. The hazily defined Superphone moniker follows the Smartphone tag, and usually applies to those phones with at least a 4.0 inch display, an 8.0 megapixel camcorder, a 1 GHz processor and full Internet access. Slightly smaller than the average 4G smartphone, and typical of the weight offered by a 4G handset, the Droid Incredible 2 arrives in a very familiar smartphone form factor, as a black, rectangular slab. The handset measures 4.75 x 2.52 x 0.48 inches (121 x 64 x 12 mm) in size and weighs approximately 4.77 ounces (135 g).

The display on board is 4.0 inches and offers capacitive multitouch navigation while delivering 480 x 800 pixel resolution to the S–LCD screen. A light sensor is built in and offers auto brightness adjustment, and the onboard proximity sensor saves battery life by shutting the device off after extended periods of non-use. With that battery saving feature, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 delivers 6.50 hours of average talk time and 15 days standby capability from the relatively light 1450 mAh battery.

Popular social media applications Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr have been pre-installed, and the handset is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon chip set, including a 1 GHz Scorpion central processing unit and Adreno 205 graphics processor. System memory runs to 768 MB RAM, and a microSD slot also offers microSDHC support, and allows for storage expansion up to 32 GB.

The rear mounted 8.0 megapixel camcorder mentioned earlier provides a video light and dual LED flash for low light operation, and also delivers geo-tagging, a special effects package, autofocus and face detection features. That rear snapper provides video capture in 720P HD resolution, and the front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam can also be used for video calls. The built-in YouTube video player on the Droid Incredible 2 joins an onboard music player that filters by album, artist and play lists, and supports all major audio file formats. The onboard web browser supports both HTML and Flash technologies, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n channels join Bluetooth as wireless connectivity options. Video out is offered by wireless DLNA access.  Buy the HTC Droid Incredible 2 starting at just one penny!
