Canaccord Genuity regularly performs retail store checks in the United States, monitoring sales of consumer electronics devices. The results of their most recent smartphone check-up have been posted online, and after two full months of absence from Cannacord’s best-selling smartphone list, a Windows Phone is back in action. Recently the Nokia Lumia 928 4G smartphone hit the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, and that handset has evidently debuted with desirable and popular features.
The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $29.99.
The Nokia Lumia 928 holds down the 3rd position on Verizon’s list of bestsellers according to Canaccord Genuity’s research of major retailers across the United States. A third place on Verizon’s large US network is nothing to scoff at, because unlike AT&T, Verizon has a much larger market for mobile handsets and smartphones that do not happen to be iPhones. The phone hit the Verizon network in mid May of this year, delivering a large high-resolution screen with extremely high pixel density, speedy processor and high-end camera features.
The Nokia Lumia 928 also delivers many features that the Lumia 920 made popular, but in a smaller and slimmer form factor. The high-performance microphones on board the 928 are capable of capturing up to 140dB sound without distortion. The PureMotion HD+ display is also on board, and a high-performance camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens is also present. The handset measures just 0.40 inches (10.1 mm) in thickness, but delivers a large 4.5 inch AMOLED display.
That screen on the Lumia 928 displays more than 16 million different colors and offers scratch resistance, and has special light and proximity sensors built in. Those sensors automatically adjust for the proper brightness and automatically dim the display when it is not needed, and these two features help conserve battery power. This leads to a full 16.2 hours of talk time from a single charge, and a whopping 25.2 days of standby battery power. Resolution runs high at 768 by 1,280 pixels, as does pixel density at 332 ppi.
The system chip powering the handset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 model which is built around a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU. 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is a full 32 GB of built-in storage space. The rear facing 8.7 megapixel PureView camera provides wide-angle panorama capture, and offers optical image stabilization, exposure compensation, a back illuminated sensor (BSI) and built-in Xenon flash. Video capture on that camera runs 1,080P HD resolution, and the handset also offers a front facing camcorder.
The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $29.99.
