In today’s smartphone world, there are only two high-end devices in the Windows Phone ecosystem – the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X (there are three actually which includes the elusive Samsung ATIV S which is missing in action until now). The Nokia Lumia 920 was released in US shores by AT&T and is currently one of the bestselling devices over at the carrier. In addition to that, a lot of Windows Phone fanboys claim that the Nokia Lumia 920 is the handset of choice if you want to make the most of the Windows Phone experience.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is an exclusive with AT&T but word on the street is that the handset is about to make its way over to Verizon Wireless. The handset however will eschew the Nokia Lumia 920 moniker and will allegedly get released by Big Red as the Nokia Lumia 928. Actually, these rumors have been circulating around smartphone town for a little over a month now and recently, an alleged screenshot from Verizon’s internal system pertaining to the handset has recently surfaced.

The alleged screenshot was sent by one of our reliable sources and the screenshot shows a certain Nokia Lumia 928 included in the list of devices alongside the Nokia Lumia 822 which Verizon launched a couple of months back. In addition to that, the screenshot showed that the alleged Nokia Lumia 928 had a January release but since it is already March and Big Red is yet to make an announcement about the alleged handset, the handset could have been delayed by internal testing.

As for the Nokia Lumia 928, the handset could be the first high-end Windows Phone handset to be released by Big Red which would mean a change of direction for the carrier who only released midrange Windows Phone handsets until now. Again, there is still no confirmation about this until Verizon releases confirmation so everybody is advised to take this with a grain of salt. But if everything pans out and Big Red devices to push through with the alleged Nokia Lumia 928, this will give Nokia and the Windows Phone platform a bigger market share in our side of the world.

As for the Nokia Lumia 920, the handset is still one of the more popular handsets in the Windows Phone platform and boasts of an impressive resume composed of fire-breathing components under the hood. The handset has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which brings into play a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space on board the handset is rated at a very generous 32GB but this is all you get because memory expansion is not supported on the Nokia Lumia 920. As for its display, the handset comes with a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack-powered IPS TFT panel with a 1280 x 768 resolution while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.
