In the last couple of years, Nokia has taken the back seat in the smartphone competition while the likes of Apple, Samsung, HTC and the like had all the fun in the market. However, with the strategic partnership that the Finnish smartphone manufacturer has entered into with software giant Microsoft, it has once again become relevant in the smartphone market when it began flooding the smartphone market with its Lumia line of Windows Phone devices.
In the US, Nokia released the Nokia Lumia 710 via T-Mobile and since hitting the shelves of the Magenta carrier, the handset has received glowing reviews – a testament to the capabilities of the device. In fact, Nokia big boss Stephen Elop boasted at Mobile World Congress 2012 about how the Nokia Lumia 710 was the company’s return device in US shores. In addition to that, Elop also stated that they are very happy with the sales performance of the handset and it has been exceeding their expectations.
And to further entice people with the capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 710, the manufacturer planned several promotions tied-in with the release of the film The Dark Knight Rises. In fact, Nokia has already launched a Dark Knight Rises edition of both the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 900 with both handsets getting the Batman logo engraved by laser at their back panels. This time around, the Batman treatment spills over to the Nokia Lumia 710.
As it stands, the handset will not get the same laser engraving treatment as that of the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900. Instead, the manufacturer released a spate of The Dark Knight Rises Xpress-On Color Covers with simple printed-on logo of Batman for the Nokia Lumia 710. These will come in white, black, yellow, magenta and cyan. What’s even better is that Nokia is giving these color covers for free for all Nokia Lumia 710 owners on the T-Mobile network in US shores.
Should you have a Nokia Lumia 710 from T-Mobile for your mobile weapon of choice and want to get your hands on these free Xpress-On color covers with the iconic Batman logo, all you need to do is submit an online request and just follow the steps. It’s all easy-peasy indeed.
As for the Nokia Lumia 710, the handset is one of the better-performing handsets in the Windows Phone ecosystem and already runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango for its operating system. The OS of the handset is powered by its QualComm MSM8255 SnapDragon chipset while its computing muscle is delivered by a 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor and 512 MB of RAM. The storage space of the Nokia Lumia 710 comes up to 8GB but there is no option to have it expanded. As for its display, the handset sports a Nokia ClearBlack Display-powered 3.7-inch AMOLED panel made from Gorilla Glass and has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The handset only has one shooter though in the form of its 5MP rear camera which is also capable of 720p video capture at 30 frames per second.
