droidrazrmToday’s modern smartphones look and operate like something out of a James Bond movie, and the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone actually allows you to spy on your desktop, tablet or laptop PC. The phone comes with the Chrome for Android mobile web browser pre-installed, allowing you to sync your Droid Razr M handset and computer. The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system powers the compact 4G capable phone, and the handset currently retails for $0.01 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store online.

Your Chrome powered PC can be accessed remotely from your Droid Razr M smartphone. The Chrome mobile browser actually “talks” to your Chrome powered computer, giving you access to your bookmarks, and even allowing you to view any tabs you left open on that PC. The Chrome operating system meshes perfectly between the Droid Razr M and your mobile PC, and the speedy Verizon network in the US allows for download speeds of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds up to 2 to 5 Mbps.

Verizon has clocked those up and download speeds on the Droid Razr M in real world environments, and the compact handset also delivers all day battery power. The handset can charge totally in as little as four hours, with the 2,000 mA lithium-ion cell delivering up to 20.0 hours of talk time and 17 point days of standby power from a single charge. A sturdy aluminum framing surrounds the 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED edge-to-edge display, and the Droid Razr M also benefits from a durable DuPont Kevlar back plate.

A water repellent nanocoating provides protection against incidental liquid contact, and a layer of Gorilla Glass delivers scratch and chip protection. NFC wireless access is supplied out-of-the-box, and by minimizing the bezel surrounding the display, a small form factor was achieved. The dimensions of 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) make the Droid Razr M smaller, thinner and more compact than other 4G smartphones with the same sized 4.3 inch screen, and the handset is light as well, weighing just 4.44 ounces (126 g).

Pixel density runs 256 pixels per inch, and overall display resolution runs 540 x 960 pixels. More than 16 million colors are represented on that screen, which delivers video out access. Motorola has chosen a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip to power the Droid Razr M 4G, including a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. Graphics are handled exclusively by an Adreno 225 GPU, 1.0 GB of RAM is on board, as is 8.0 GB of internal memory. Storage expansion is offered by a microSD slot, and video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution on the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder.
