galaxysiiisprintThe Samsung Galaxy S III has been an incredibly popular phone worldwide. Offered by multiple wireless carriers, the GS III arrived on the Sprint wireless network on June 21 of this year. A little over a month ago Sprint built their first ever 4G LTE network in the United States, and that is where the Sprint Galaxy S III currently runs. Having received the upgrade to the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, the 16 GB Sprint Galaxy S III was recently seen at the Amazon Wireless year end sales event, retailing for around $49 on contract.

The Galaxy S III for Sprint is available at a discounted special price now starting at $0.01.

The Samsung TouchWiz UX user interface accepts multitouch, capacitive gestures to operate the handset, which is slim at 0.34 inches (8.1) in thickness. Also light at 4.70 ounces (133 g), the Sprint GS III nonetheless delivers one of the largest smartphone displays. The 4.80 inch Super AMOLED screen delivers more than 16 million different colors, at a rate of 306 pixels over every inch of the display. That leads to a high-end resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels.

That screen is protected against everyday wear and tear by a durable layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, with standard light and proximity sensors built in that automatically adjust for the proper brightness levels and help conserve battery power. The handset is capable of 9.20 hours from a single battery charge, 15% better than the industry average. Popular online destinations Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter have been pre-installed into the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III 4G, and the handset is NFC (Near Field Communications) supportive out-of-the-box.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip package powers the handset, with a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU at its core. A full 2.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, the handset is available in both 16 GB and 32 GB models, and a microSD slot allows for storage expansion. An Adreno 225 GPU focuses exclusively on all graphics processing, and the front facing chat cam built into the Sprint Galaxy S III can be used for portrait snapshots and video calls.

Built into the back of the handset is a high resolution camcorder of 8.0 megapixels. A back illuminated sensor (BSI) and built-in LED flash provide low light camera functionality, and the Sprint Galaxy S III offers a wide range of camera features such as autofocus, touch to focus, exposure compensation, ISO control, self timer and special effects package. Also capable of simultaneous HD video and image recording, the handset captures video in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) and 30 frames per second.

You can purchase the Galaxy S III for Sprint at a reduced special price now starting at $0.01.
