The HTC Droid Incredible 4G Android smartphone arrived on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system on July 5 in the United States. That network is reportedly larger than all the other 4G LTE networks in the United States combined, according to Verizon. An independent reviewer, RootMetrics, tested the four major 4G LTE systems in the United States, and they reported finding the Verizon Wireless system to be the fastest available and the most consistent in delivering 4G speeds. Delivering the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G is currently exclusive to the Verizon Wireless system in the US, and recently received a retail price reduction to budget bin levels.

The screen on the handset is a Super LCD capacitive touchscreen supporting multitouch gestures. Pixel density runs above average for a 4G smartphone, at 275 pixels every inch, creating an overall resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Standard light and proximity sensors offer auto brightness adjustment and battery conservation, and video out is delivered through DLNA wireless technology. The handset delivers roughly 20% better battery performance than the typical 4G smartphone, providing 9.57 hours of talk time from a single charge of its 1,700 mA battery.

In the hardware package on board the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip set is built around a dual core 1.2 GHz Krait central processor. Handling all graphics processing is an Adreno 225 GPU, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory are built-in. The Incredible 4G LTE smartphone offers 8.0 GB of built-in, user accessible data storage, with the built-in microSD slot supporting cards up to 32 GB for storage expansion.

The 8.0 megapixel camcorder built into the back of the handset delivers simultaneous high-resolution image and video recording, and comes equipped with an LED flash. Features like autofocus, face and smile detection and Geo tagging are present, and the 28 mm wide-angle lens supports a panoramic mode. Video is captured in 1,080P HD resolution, and a VGA quality chat cam is integrated into the front of the handset. A built-in music player joins the full range Beats Audio sound package and a YouTube video player in the multimedia package on board the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone. The handset has sold well for Verizon, and appeals to those smartphone shoppers who prefer a more compact package in an Android smartphone, without giving up all the desirable features.
