The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX Android smartphone has been a runaway bestseller for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States ever since it launched on January 26 of this year. With the familiar splash resistant, Kevlar and aluminum design first delivered by its skinnier twin the Droid Razr, the handset returns all the high-performance features the Droid Razr delivered. But an extended life 3,300 mA battery offers 4G-best talk time of 21.5 hours or video playback of 15.0 hours from a single charge.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is on sale now starting at 69.99.

And after what seemed like an interminable wait, Droid Razr MAXX owners now finally have the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 OS on their handset. The new operating system delivers a Face Unlock feature that unlocks your phone using facial recognition technology. And the ICS OS allows the 8.0 megapixel camcorder on the Razr MAXX to record time-lapse video, also letting you take snapshots while recording 1,080P HD resolution video. And the volume keys on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx 4G make getting a tough shot easier when you use them as the shutter and zoom buttons.

ICS 4.0 also supports the new SmartActions application, which allows you to schedule certain operations for automatic use by working in tandem with the GPS location system. You can set up a new hands-free Voice Announce to tell you who’s calling you while you’re driving, and set certain contacts to VIP status, with their incoming calls immediately overriding your vibrate or silent settings. You can now capture a screenshot with the new ICS OS by pressing down the volume and power buttons simultaneously, and the Webtop interface works more seamlessly with the optional Lapdock 100 laptop accessory with the new operating system.

The Droid Razr MAXX also follows well in the slender footsteps of the Motorola Droid Razr, the skinniest handset ever designed at the time it was released. The Razr MAXX is 0.35 inches (8.99 mm) in thickness, and the 4.30 inch Super AMOLED Advanced display offers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. At 32 GB of out-of-the-box storage, the Droid Razr MAXX offers the max amount of any 4G smartphone. That includes 16 GB built in and a 16 GB removable microSD card that ships with the handset. A dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 central processor is also on board, as is 1.0 GB of RAM system memory.

Buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx now starting at 69.99.
