Since the release of the new Kindle Fire tablet this year, many are wondering if it will be the tablet to finally take over the top of the list which is occupied by Apple.  Kindle Fire sales quickly boosted the new tablet into the number two slot in the tablet industry, partly because it was super affordable and comes with tons of Amazon features.  An analyst at JP Morgan thinks that Apple should welcome the fact that the Kindle Fire has moved into the number two slot, instead of fire the new tablet.  According to a sit-down meeting with Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook, Apple is not going to be worried about “lower-priced tablets” and that consumers that bought the Kindle Fire would eventually “gravitate to more feature-rich experiences” in the future, which opens the door for the new iPad 3.

Reports say the new Android powered Kindle Fire will beat out every other Android tablet by the end of the next quarter, but that is not giving anyone at Apple any concerns.  The reviews of the Kindle Fire have been mixed, but many remember that the Kindle Fire is a $199 tablet and not something you are going to get the “best of the best” with.  Comparing the Kindle Fire to a gateway drug for the Apple iPad is a very fair statement and the popularity forces Amazon to keep the Kindle customers with more updated tablets in the future.  The likelihood that Amazon will release the Kindle Fire 2 is good, but the better screen and features is going to have to bring a higher price range.  Getting the Kindle Fire closer in price to the iPad just might make the users think hard about which tablet they would rather upgrade to.

Some experts are saying that the “entry level” Kindle Fire is not concerning and even called it a “soap box derby device stuck between tablet and e-reader”.  Simply put, tablets like the iPad won’t really have to worry about tablets like the Kindle Fire until they come along with second and third versions.  JP Morgan analysts did make a note that Apple has very good success because of the fact they update their products each year, keeping the product line fresh and enticing to customers.  Apple iPad 3 rumors have been roaming for some time, as well as rumors of a new Kindle Fire.
