After the all new Galaxy Nexus launched in the UK in the last few weeks, Verizon customers have been waiting to hear an official launch date by Verizon on when they can expect the Galaxy Nexus to hit US shelves.

The first phone shipping with the all new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the Nexus has been rumored to be launching as early as the 21st of November, and then other rumors have set it back to Black Friday and the first of December and so on.

This has left many consumers ticked off at the lack of any official word from Verizon. The fact that Verizon has released the Droid Bionic and the more recent Motorola Droid Razr in the last two months may have something to do with Verizon not wanting to push the new device out too soon. It looks as though there will be no Black Friday deals on the Galaxy Nexus as there have been more recent images of internal Verizon docs that show the Samsung Nexus release date of December 8th.

We will let you know when the official announcement comes out, but until then, we are all left in the dark until Verizon decides to let customers in on their little secrets.

  1. I’m beginning to wonder whether Verizon is consciously trying to defer the Galaxy Nexus release until a date and time that optimizes the number of customers that will lose their ‘New Every Two’ $50 discount, which could be significant. Suppose there are a million people that are eligible for the discount but will lose it on or after December 8th. That’s fifty million dollars captured by Big Red. In these days of corporate greed I would not be surprised by this maneuver.

  2. That doesn’t make sense. You don’t lose your new every two discount if you don’t use it. They are doing away with the program all together, but there are still plenty of people that have it. If anything, Verizon should release now if this was part of their plan. Every day they wait, more and more people become eligible for NET discounts. Like me, there are many people that are eligible for NET upgrades at the end of December and beyond. I would pass up the NET discount and just upgrade early if they would release this damn phone already. If I did that, I’d lose the NET and not get it back on my next contract since they aren’t offering it anymore. But now that the Nexus is not (possibly) coming out until December 8th, I might as well wait 2 more weeks and make them give me my $50!

  3. Verizon and Samsung have both done a VERY POOR job on releasing this! According to the many posting I read online, their “marketing” games are not building anticipation but frustration!!!! Screw the Galaxy Nexus! If they can’t even make a simple release, makes me wonder how the phone and service will be!! I’m tired of all the hype, either trash it or release it!!!

  4. I’ve spoken with representatives from both companies; each say it is the fault of the other as to why a release date has not been given!! My thought: if you’re not read to release it or at least have a date, then shut up about the product! Both company’s website have a “coming soon” displayed!! Stop the damn game and release it. I’m tired of waiting and going for the iPhone!! Tired of the games!
