hpThe Chromebook has been picking a lot of attention lately as more companies look to provide a more portable, affordable computer for consumers.  With the rise in mobile computing use and the decline of desktop computers in the United States, the only place for the interest to go is into the laptop and netbook arena.  As an affordable replacement for your aging desktop, the Chromebook packs enough power to get normal tasks done, quickly and efficiently.  Google’s Chromebooks have been around a few years, but only recently have they started to get backing from companies like HP.

HP announced that it plans to get a Chromebook to the marketplace for just $379 and that would come with support for 4G LTE connections from Verizon Wireless.  The Chromebook 11 has made its way onto the Best Buy website and it can be yours for less than $400.  Having a laptop or netbook with a 4G LTE connection is nothing new, however this will be one of the first that is priced this low.  Google developed its own 4G LTE supported Pixel, but that came with a price tag that read $1400, and has not been for sale in a while.

The Chromebook 11 from HP launched back in October when the company announced a couple of different options that it was bringing to the market.  It was not until this week that HP announced the 4G LTE option at Best Buy for just $379.  The Chromebook 11 features an 11.6-inch IPS HD display, Exynos 5250 processor from Samsung and 2GB of RAM.  The smaller computer comes with 16GB of internal storage and offers about 6 hours of battery life before you have to plug it into the charger.  The HP Chromebook 11 is available through the Google Play store for just $279 in the Wi-Fi only model.

The company that made the 4G LTE chips that goes inside the Chromebook is called Altair Semiconductor and they also make 4G LTE chips for smartphones.  The company also issued an announcement confirming that the new device is now available at Best Buy stores.  If you have a Verizon Wireless Share Everything Plan, you can simply get the SIM card and a data line to your account and you are now able to cruise the web, at your leisure while on the go via the super fast, 4G LTE connection that Verizon Wireless provides.
