If you have ever wanted an app from the Android Marketplace, but really wanted to try it out first, now is your chance.  A new program from the folks at BlueStacks, will allow you to download and try an app out on your PC before you commit to buying it.  The program is in beta mode, but you can download it and give it a try.  The program goes by the name of BlueStacks App Player and with that you can test out apps in a full screen, virtual makeup of your Android device.

Since the program is in the beta stages you can expect to be working around some bugs.  The app will place an Android gadget or icon looking thing on your desktop and from there you can launch the menu where you can choose to launch any of the preloaded apps.  The preloaded apps include Bloomberg News, Bubble Buster, Words Free and more.  Looking at the apps in a full screen mode, you can clearly see how the app works and navigate around the app to see if it’s one you would like to download to your Android phone.  Controlling the apps is done by touch screen on a smartphone, but with the PC program, you will have to use the keyboard or mouse and that is a little hard to get used to.  Using a laptop with a multi-touch pad would give you the best results in testing the app.

The apps run very smoothly and the overall experience on a PC is seamless.  Another option you have through the gadget is to add more apps.  Once you choose to do so, you will be asked to login to BlueStacks App Channels using your Facebook account.  Once you get logged in and can see the Channels page, you can then browse and download apps and games like Checkers, MineSweeper, Sudoku and more.  If you want to send an Android app from your phone or tablet to the PC gadget, all you need is the BlueStacks Cloud Connect App, which you can get from the Android Marketplace.  Once you have that installed on your mobile device, you can connect to your PC and send any app at that point.

This program seems like a good idea, especially if you want to play a game app while at home and do not want to use up the battery life on your smartphone.
