htconex2Google has the most recent version of the Android operating system on the market already and there are a good amount of devices that it downloaded and installed already, but that does not mean that some companies forgot about the Jelly Bean version.  Over the last month or more, there has been a lot of talk about some older HTC devices that might be seeing the new Android software at some point.  Some of the older smartphones were taken off the list, but the HTC One X was not.

According to AT&T, the HTC One X is going to be getting the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software this week and that will come with Sense 5 as well.  The update finally passed through the technical approval process and is ready to send out over-the-air.  HTC started rolling out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software for the smartphone many weeks ago and it looks like AT&T is finally going to be offering it to subscribers.  This update will be one of the biggest to hit the one time flagship device from HTC after weeks of subscribers looking for reasons as to why they weren’t getting the update notification yet.

HTC executive made the call a couple of weeks ago to put all of the rumors to bed about whether the smartphone was actually going to be getting updated at all.  After seeing some smartphone fall from the list, many were worried that the HTC One X was going to be next.  Even though the smartphone might not get the Android 4.4 KitKat software, at least Jelly Bean is an update that will be very welcomed.  According to reports, HTC claims the update will be coming this week.

Checking for your update is easy and all you have to do is go into the “About” section to get more information.  From there you should see the update notification and might want to make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network to save on your data plan.  Once you have it downloaded and installed, you will see the HTC One X reboot and once it turns back on the process will finish up revealing a new operating system and user interface software.  The Sense 5 software brings the same interface found on the HTC One and that includes HTC’s popular BlinkFeed.
