Since its release in US shores via AT&T last April, the Nokia Lumia 900 4G has become one of the bestselling devices in the lineup of the wireless provider. In fact, the handset has reached a level of popularity never before seen in a Nokia handset when it managed to snag the top and third spots in an AT&T-authorizes retailer’s bestsellers list on the day that it made its debut in US shelves last April 8, a Sunday that fell on a national holiday.

Looking back, the handset is the current flagship device of the Finnish smartphone manufacturer and is said to be their best by far. When you come to think of it, Nokia has been in the back seat of the smartphone competition for a couple of years already when Apple and other manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola, Samsung and the like began taking over the smartphone market several years back. Only a strategic partnership with software giant Microsoft was able to give the manufacturer a second lease at life in the smartphone competition when it began manufacturing handsets for the Windows Phone ecosystem.

Nokia started its bid to reclaim its lost glory with the release of the Nokia Lumia 710 in US shores, its return device to our side of the world and the handset that was able to give it a foothold in the US smartphone market. The handset that strengthened the said foothold however was the Nokia Lumia 900 4G which is said to be the handset of choice to give you the best Windows Phone experience if you are thinking of jumping to the platform.

However, the popularity of the handset is said to be waning already as indicated by its slip in the bestsellers list of AT&T. The Nokia Lumia 900 4G used to always be in the second spot behind the Apple iPhone 4S since its release but have dropped down to the third spot last month after the HTC One X 4G went up a notch in the list. Be that as it may, there is no denying the fact that the Nokia Lumia 900 4G is still one of the more popular devices at AT&T. As of the moment the carrier has just made it easier for prospective buyers to get their hands on the handset.

As it stands, AT&T has already given the green light to give the Nokia Lumia 900 4G a price cut at AT&T-authorized retailers. As of the moment, the handset can now be had at these retailers for as low as a penny provided that you sign a new two-year service agreement with AT&T to take advantage of the carrier-subsidized price point of the handset. Not only that, AT&T is also releasing a version of the handset that comes in Magenta paint job which will perfectly suit prospective buyers of the handset looking for a “girly”-colored version of the device.  Buy the Nokia Lumia 900 starting at one penny!
